Iraqi movie 'The Journey' is to vie at the 36th Fajr Int'l film Festival in Iran.

Iraqi movie 'The Journey' has been scheduled to be screened at the 36th edition of the Fajr International film Festival in Iran.

Directed by Mohammad Al-Daraji, ‘The Journey’ is to compete in the Eastern Vista Section of the Iranian film event.

Set on the day of Saddam Hussein’s execution, ‘The Journey’ is a tense and harrowing psychological thriller that takes place in Baghdad’s central railway station and its environs.

A woman enters the station on a December morning in 2006, with a bomb strapped to her stomach and her finger twitching over the trigger.

Established in 1982, the Fajr International Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.

Directed by Reza Mirkarimi, the 36th edition of the festival will run on April 19-27, 2018, in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.
